Supporting Neurodivergent Adults
MyRounders recognises that neurodivergent adults may have different needs and communication styles. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.
Here are some specific ways we support neurodivergent adults:
- Providing clear and concise information: We will avoid using jargon and ensure all rules, procedures, and communication are clear and understandable.
- Offering alternative communication channels: Individuals who prefer alternative communication methods, such as email or written instructions, should be accommodated.
- Being mindful of sensory sensitivities: We will be mindful of potential sensory triggers on the field and in social settings, offering adjustments as needed.
- Recognizing and respecting different communication styles: We understand that neurodivergent individuals may communicate differently, and we will strive to be patient and understanding.
- Promoting awareness and understanding: We will educate players, coaches, and officials about neurodiversity and how to support individuals with different needs.
By taking these steps, we aim to ensure that MyRounders is a fun and safe space for everyone, regardless of neurodivergence. If you have any questions or concerns about our support for neurodivergent adults, please do not hesitate to contact the designated safeguarding officer.
